Job Description

The New York State Unified Court System is seeking an Appellate Law Typist in the Appellate Division, Third Department - Office of Attorneys for Children in Albany, NY. Appellate Law Typists work with substantial independence and are responsible for providing accurate and high speed legal typing and other related clerical services to justices, administrators, and legal personnel in the Appellate Divisions and Appellate Terms of the Supreme Court.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administrative/clerical assistance associated with maintaining accurate information pertaining to current attorney for children panel members.
• Assisting with all aspects of the office's Continuing Legal Education curriculum for attorney panel members.
• Ongoing revisions to the Attorney for Children website.
• Assisting with the maintenance of the library of recorded training videos.
• Assisting with live training seminars/virtual webinars.
• Scheduling and/or travel arrangements for offices Director and/or Deputy Director.
• Attend and take notes during various meetings and then assist with drafting of meeting minutes.
• Drafting various forms utilized by the office.
• Helping organize recruitment events to attract new attorneys for children.

Qualifications: One year in the Principal Appellate Office Typist or Principal Appellate Office Stenographer title; or Two years in the Senior Appellate Office Typist or Senior Appellate Office Stenographer title; or High school diploma or the equivalent and three (3) years of relevant typing and clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Base Salary: $55,009
