Top 3 Required Skills:

Must-Have Skills:
- 3–5 years of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in specialty or fulfillment pharmacy
- Strong understanding of drug terminology and specialty therapies
- Experience with prescription data entry, refill processing, and claims adjudication
- Ability to accurately prepare, label, package, and ship medications and related supplies
- Knowledge of HIPAA, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
- Proficiency with pharmacy systems and basic pharmaceutical calculations
- Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter new and refill prescriptions into the pharmacy system to generate required documentation.
- Process prescription orders, supply, and equipment requests while meeting productivity and quality standards.
- Contact prescribers for new prescriptions, refill authorizations, and order clarifications.
- Receive and resolve inbound calls from patients, caregivers, and prescribers.
- Select appropriate medications, supplies, and ancillaries based on prescription and patient needs.
- Forward entered prescriptions to pharmacists for verification and clarification as needed.
- Adjudicate pharmacy claims and resolve claim-related issues.
- Fill patient orders by retrieving correct medications, verifying quantities, and preparing prescription labels.
- Ensure client-specific materials are included with each order and prepare shipments for delivery.
- Assist with packing, labeling, and shipping medications using appropriate materials and methods.
- Generate shipping labels and coordinate delivery scheduling with patients and caregivers.
- Clean dispensing equipment and replenish workstation supplies at scheduled intervals.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and proprietary information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Complete quality assurance documentation and report issues to the supervising pharmacist.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities when required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Active State of Florida Pharmacy Technician License required
- 3–5 years of pharmacy technician experience (specialty pharmacy strongly preferred)
- Ability to perform intermediate pharmaceutical calculations accurately
- Strong understanding of regulatory, safety, and compliance standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced fulfillment environment with high accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
