Daily Duties / Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, the Project Manager will manage all tasks associated with one or more small-to-large projects (or components of larger efforts). This is an individual contributor role with no HR management responsibilities.
Key duties include:
- Follow established SDLC processes within Medicaid IT Services.
- Develop and maintain all project documentation throughout the lifecycle.
- Manage initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout activities for assigned projects.
- Coordinate and manage projects using approved project management methodologies.
- Develop detailed work plans and maintain project roadmaps.
- Control project scope and schedule to meet deliverables, milestones, and deadlines.
- Oversee and execute the communication plan.
- Prepare status reports and present updates to stakeholders, sponsors, and leadership.
- Identify risks and issues; develop and implement mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate problem resolution and support decision-making.
- Build and foster a collaborative, high-performing project team environment.
- Work within Change Management and Release Management structures for system implementations.
- Create and maintain dashboards (Power BI or equivalent) for project reporting.
- Write process documentation, gather stakeholder feedback, and present findings to senior leadership.
- Work beyond 40 hours per week when needed, including possible weekends.
Required Skills
- PMP Certification
- 6+ years of experience as a Project Manager
- 4+ years of experience with Power BI
- 3+ years of experience with Mainframe and distributed systems
- Strong organizational, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Project, Project Web App, Teams
- Ability to work effectively in a stressful, fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptability, flexibility, time management, and self-motivation
