Job Description

Warehouse Operations Lead

Location: City of Commerce, CA

Reports To: VP of Operations

Type: Full-Time

About Us

Olive Ateliers is a fast-growing, founder-led lifestyle brand entering a pivotal next chapter. What began as a business rooted in sourcing and retailing vintage objects from around the world is now evolving into a design-led home furnishings company, with rapidly expanding proprietary collections produced through a trusted network of global partners. As we grow from a cult-favorite retail concept into a nationally recognized luxury consumer brand, we’re building the operational engine that will power this next exciting phase of growth.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Warehouse Operations Lead to oversee the daily operations of our warehouse and adjacent operations, ensuring it is safe, organized, and optimized for growth.

This is a leadership role with a focus on people, process, and systems. You’ll manage and train Warehouse and Fulfillment Associates, enforce SOPs, and build scalable practices that ensure inventory flows seamlessly from inbound receiving through outbound fulfillment and transfers. This position partners closely with our Operations, Logistics, and Sales Teams, supporting store, online and virtual sales channels, while creating the clarity and structure needed for the brand to scale.

The Warehouse Operations Lead also carries full ownership of Olive Ateliers’ physical inventory, ensuring every product is accurately received, stored, tracked, and prepared for delivery or retail presentation. This role also oversees warehouse facilities upkeep, ensuring equipment, infrastructure, and workspaces are maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on building systems, spotting inefficiencies, and turning the warehouse into a disciplined, future-ready hub that mirrors the quality of Olive Ateliers’ products and customer experience.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead and coach Warehouse and Fulfillment Associates, setting clear standards for safety, accuracy, and organization.
  • Manage scheduling and workload planning to match inbound shipments, outbound orders, and transfers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement in daily operations.
  • Ensure the warehouse environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained, addressing hazards quickly and maintaining compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Inbound Operations

  • Oversee the receiving, inspection, unboxing, and systematic recording of inbound shipments.
  • Ensure all SKUs are properly labeled, ticketed, and staged in both physical locations and systems.
  • Partner with the Operations Team to anticipate inbound arrivals and allocate resources effectively.

Outbound Operations & Transfers

  • Manage the execution of outbound shipments (LTL, FTL, parcel, and local delivery staging).
  • Oversee warehouse-to-retail transfers and retail-to-warehouse returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support cross-dock operations and replenishment to maintain smooth inventory flow across channels.

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Own warehouse use of Shopify and related systems to ensure accuracy, transparency, and consistency.
  • Develop and enforce SOPs for receiving, staging, shipping, replenishment, and transfers.
  • Build scalable documentation and checklists that ensure repeatability and training efficiency.
  • Produce reporting on warehouse volumes and accuracy, surfacing opportunities for optimization.
  • Oversee warehouse facilities maintenance, coordinating with vendors and service providers for repairs, inspections, and preventative upkeep.
  • Maintain equipment logs and ensure forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools are in safe working condition.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to plan improvements in warehouse layout, racking, and infrastructure as the business scales.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Logistics Team on inbound schedules, carrier pickups, and outbound workflows.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to align SKU setup, product accuracy, and systematic receiving.
  • Support Store Operations and CX by ensuring warehouse execution aligns with service expectations.

Continuous Improvement & Scalability

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve safety, accuracy, and speed.
  • Partner with vendors to improve packaging and crating practices, reducing damages and inefficiencies.
  • Anticipate growth needs in staffing, facility layout, equipment, and technology to keep the warehouse future-ready.
  • Act as a thought partner to the VP of Operations, helping evolve the warehouse into a best-in-class operation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in warehouse or operations management with proven leadership experience.
  • Strong focus on safety, organization, and process optimization.
  • Shopify or similar WMS experience preferred
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
  • Experience developing and enforcing SOPs in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Experience managing warehouse facilities, equipment maintenance, or safety compliance preferred.
  • OSHA forklift certification preferred (role is primarily oversight, not daily operation).
  • Must be based in Los Angeles and able to work full-time onsite.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience
  • Long-term incentive program aligned with company growth
  • 401k: Generous employer match (eligibility requirements and vesting applies)
  • Subsidized company health benefits
  • $500 Olive Ateliers shopping credit per quarter
  • 40% off retail merchandise
  • Accrued PTO Vacation & Sick Days
  • A dynamic work environment with long-term growth opportunities
