A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced VDC Modeler / Coordinator to support mechanical and plumbing construction projects. This is a construction-focused VDC role centered on fabrication-ready Revit models, spooling, and trade coordination .

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with the field and seeing their models directly support prefab and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Model mechanical and/or plumbing systems in Revit to LOD 400 , including insulation and hangers
• Generate accurate spool drawings and prefab deliverables
• Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks
• Participate in and support weekly coordination meetings with the GC and other trades
• Interpret construction documents, submittals, and specifications
• Collaborate with field foremen and project managers to validate constructability
• Maintain clean, organized models aligned with internal VDC standards
• Track and communicate modeling progress and clash status

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Revit experience in mechanical or plumbing construction modeling
• Experience with SysQue, eVolveMEP, or Fabrication Parts
• Hands-on experience creating spool sheets and hanger layouts
• Working knowledge of Navisworks Manage for clash detection
• Comfortable supporting or participating in coordination meetings
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Solid understanding of MEP systems and construction workflows

Preferred

• Mechanical or plumbing trade background
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360
• Experience supporting field layout or point file workflows
• Exposure to Virginia or Mid-Atlantic construction projects
